Greeters are the first impression of the church. The service is easy: smile, greet everyone, hand out bulletins and be available to assist those who need help by directing them to the appropriate area or to another volunteer.
The serving schedule is set up so that greeters serve the same Sunday each month (i.e. first Sunday, second Sunday, etc.) for one service hour to include first service (9:00 am) weekend group hour (10:00 am) and second service (11:00 am). Greeters are assigned to a specific area and need to be at the designated area 30 minutes prior to service time. Greeters are assigned by two's and one of the two may go into the service at the beginning of communion and the other greeter is to stay in the assigned area until the end of service or next greeter arrives. This is for security purposes to ensure that entrances are always attended. There are TVs located in each area so that those that remain at the entrance during service can still see worship service.
